Cold Duck Time
Soul Jazz Trio
Gary Lamb
Guitarist
Gary Lamb grew up in the SF Bay Area listening to rock ‘n roll, blues, and country-western music. He is a multi-faceted guitarist who plays lead, rhythm and slide guitar. He was a founding member of The Gates of Eden band that became one of the most respected bands in the East Bay Area.

Over the years he’s appeared in bands that have included former members of the Eddie Money band and Counting Crows. He has played such venues as the Gilroy Garlic Festival, San Jose’s Tapestry in Talent, and Great America and has appeared at the Hayward Zuccini Festival and at the Little Fox (Club Fox) Theatre with a band that opened for Bonnie Hayes. Gary studied blues guitar with renowned bay area blues artist Kenny ‘Blue’ Ray and has made a number of appearances as a member of Kenny’s band. He studied jazz guitar with the well respected instructor and jazz guitarist Jim Witzel. He has played jazz in the soul jazz organ trio,Cold Duck Time, for many years. In addition, he has written and recorded several CD’s of instrumental songs in his home studio that cover a variety of styles.
Marshall Warner
Hammond B3/Keyboardist
Marshall Warner is a veteran musician who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and absorbed the many musical influences here. He has played in original bands and many cover bands over the years and plays a variety of styles; although, he is truly in his element playing blues. His background began with classical music but it wasn’t until the British blues players led him on the path back to Muddy, Howlin’, 3 Kings, and Chicago blues, that he found his passion. After casting aside the classical piano regimen in favor of blues bass, Marshall started learning all he could from records and other musicians.
After spending a few years playing in blues and rock bands around the greater SF Bay Area—in bands like TKO, Podz, Joboie, and Seeker—Marshall decided to conform and join corporate America to supplement his music income. Marshall spent the next years as a programmer while playing blues at night. Some other bands he was with include Mary Bouc and Friends, Gary Lamb Blues Band and Loosely Blues; some old time venues he played include the Keystone, Cabaret, Catalyst, St. Michael’s Alley, Wooden Nickel, Wente Vineyard, Bistro Hayward, JJ’s, Red Fox, Britannia Arms, Johnny Foley’s, Los Altos Bar and Grill, Pleasanton Bar, The Vine, Rowell Ranch Rodeo and others.

While playing blues Marshall met and recorded with John Lee Hooker and his organist Deacon Jones back in the ’90’s at Lumberjack Studios (East Bay). It was then that Deacon lit the Hammond B3 fire under Marshall and, ouch, it still burns. The organists that have been the most influential include Jack McDuff, Jimmy Mcgriff, Mike Finnigan, Jimmy Smith and Joey Defrancesco.
Dan de Geus
Drummer
Dan was born with his stick in his hand and has applied it generously to many a drum skin. At a young age Dan began his studies with Dave Garibaldi which marked his trajectory into the echelons of drumming performance. After performing throughout his youth in the Drum Corps and Jazz bands he settled into the world of Soul Jazz. Strongly influenced by bands like Espresso, Loosely Blues, Mike Renwick Trio, Tower of Power, Eddie Harris and many of the New Orleans greats, he has built up a large repertoire of groove oriented tunes. You could call Dan the groove doctor but we just call him Tito.

During Dan's middle years he played any gig that came his way in order to continue his growth, and it shows. After years playing with band like Have Mercy, Tablues and others he developed his touch and seemingly every stroke turns to gold. "Dan's solos have not been matched", Jack Dejohnnette was saying recently.

Whether it's Soul Jazz, Trad. Jazz, Chicago Blues, or Rock Dan is "the" man. His soulful and inventive approach to American music makes every performance exciting and fresh.
